Zote soap for catfish bait. Is this real?
Using Zote soap for catfish bait could very well be the truth. I have never used the Zote soap for bait, but I have used Ivory soap with some luck. Ivory soap has been used for catfish bait for as long as I can remember. It has to be the plain Ivory soap with no perfumes. If the Zote soap is a soap free of perfumes or has a smell that would attract catfish than I’m sure it would be wise to give it a shot. I read that the Zote soap is coconut oil so this might be the scent the catfish are attracted to. I did a little research and found that alot of people swear on this stuff and I don’t think they are soap salesmen. If you decide to give this a try use it alone so that you will be sure the soap alone is what worked.
We use it all the time at Reelfoot Lake in TN on yo-yos and limb lines. Works great and leaves your hands smelling better than stink bait.
